This year, we’ve added and removed categories, changed the nomination and voting process for Best of Kern.
Nominations took place in December. We had the word out on Bakersfield.com, Facebook and in The Californian for users to nominate their favorite businesses and people in the appropriate categories. Those that were consistently nominated made the ballot. If you didn’t make the ballot, try next year.
Voting will take place weekly. Over the next four weeks, we’ll run a different set of categories to be voted on from Sunday to Saturday.
Voting schedule:
Week 1 – Jan. 15 to Jan. 21
Week 2 – Jan. 22 to Jan. 28
Week 3 – Jan. 29 to Feb. 4
Week 4 – Feb. 5 to Feb. 11
Each voter must supply a valid email address to participate and can only vote once a week. Voters will be notified via email when the new ballot posts.
Only valid online votes will be counted. Print-outs, photocopies, call-ins or emails will not be accepted for voting.
Results for 2012 Best of Kern County will be published, April 28 in Bakersfield Life.
